Cantabria in Northern Spain offers a stunning coastline and an enviable range of historic villages, ports and the beautiful Picos de Europa Mountains. Travel with us to Portsmouth where we will have an overnight stay including evening meal and breakfast at The Holiday Inn before continuing onto Portsmouth for your cruise to Spain.

CROSSING:
We cruise on the fantastic Brittany Ferry from Portsmouth to Santander (sailing time 24 hours). Accommodation on board ship is in floor bedded cabins with en-suite facilities. The ferry offers two restaurants, large bar area, coffee shop, daily and evening entertainment, cinema, swimming pool and duty free shopping.

YOUR RESORT HOTEL:
Hotel Olimpo is a 4* hotel with a fantastic scenic location on a peninsular in the small town of Isla on Cantabria's coast. The hotel gardens offer access onto two beautiful sandy beaches and the outdoor swimming pool and terrace are a perfect place to relax on a sunny afternoon. The centre of the small village of Isla is only a short walk away.

• All of the bedrooms have private facilities and enjoy a very pleasant view over the sea or gardens.

EXCURSIONS:
Whilst in Spain we will visit:

• The Picos de Europa Mountain Range, travelling along the spectacular natural gorge, Desfiladero de la Hermida, to the small old-world town of Potes with its town square lined with cafes, bars and bistros.
• Santillana del Mac a world heritage site, with its cobbled streets, 12th century buildings and famous church.
• Castro Urdiales, a coastal resort and harbour town with the magnificent Gothic church.
• St Vincente de la Barquerra. This is a beautiful maritime town that dates back to Roman times when it was used as a major port.
• El Sardinero seaside resort with a tree-lined promenade and famous casino.

After our exciting visit to Northern Spain, we rejoin the ferry at Santander for the return 24hour cruise to Portsmouth and continue our return journey.
